Job Description
SUMMARY
This position will expect to collaborate with the labeling/marketing team develop and update packaging, labeling, and other print-production projects as needed. This role’s primary focus is making edits and preparing press-ready files for a host of labeling items for our portfolio of medical devices, test strips, and ancillary products, including, but not limited to: package inserts, user guides, boxes, labels, box sleeves,
and more. This role works collaboratively with cross-functional teams as needed to remain compliant in the
US and International markets and support the needs of the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works to ensure all files are optimally produced for print production using Mac platform, Adobe Creative Cloud software for a variety of packaging and labeling projects
- Ensure projects adhere to established brand guidelines and global Regulatory standards
- Assists with coordinating labeling translation process (includes providing approved English files with direction to get estimates from translation vendor, review/proof translated content as needed and submit documentation for ECN review prior to sending print ready files to print vendor)
- Practices disciplined file management, production and proofing methodologies
- Conducting first article review approvals of labeling after receiving printed samples to be used to package our products.
- Conducting electronic proof approvals of labeling prior to printing to be used to package our products.
- Manages first article library for all printed labeling materials
- Coordinates image creation and editing as needed for product labeling and marketing needs, including but not limited to: illustration or photographs of products, packaging, or instructional imagery
- Looks for opportunities for efficiencies and provides process improvement recommendations as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro)
is required - Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for Mac and PC.
- Experience with Adobe Dimension or Esko 3D rendering software is a plus, but not required.
- Strong understanding of production for packaging and printing process
- Excellent attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and timelines and deliver results on time and within
pre-determined budgets determined by management. - The ideal candidate is versatile, highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work well both individually and in a team environment.
- Passion for medical packaging/labeling design as a blend of art, science, engineering, and regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Journalism Graphics, Packaging Design/Production, Printing Technology, or relevant professional experience in desktop publishing with emphasis on print
production for packaging and labeling. - 1-3 years of related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
