PUBLIC RELATIONS ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - EVENT PLANNER
Hybrid - Atlanta or Dallas

About the Role
We’re seeking a Public Relations professional with agency & client team experience in event planning and project management. You will demonstrate strength in project management and lead team members collaboratively with day-to-day marketing, event, and communications projects. The role requires travel in the US.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an event planner and the primary point of contact for leading and staffing local community events in U.S. markets, including remote planning and on-site execution.
- Oversee the setup, execution, and cleanup of events.
- Collaborate with multiple teams, vendors, and partners during the event planning process.
- Prepare media materials and communicate directly with audiences.
- Meet with clients to discuss and understand their goals and needs, then develop project plans.
- Participate in client projects and be responsible for their outcomes.
- Delegate tasks and promote inclusive language and behaviors.
- Resolve issues for on-ground problems or situations.
- Prepare and present decks and other communication materials.
- Collaborate with PR/media relations colleagues.
- Manage multiple events at different planning stages simultaneously.
- Manage client interactions, serving as the day-to-day contact on certain accounts and projects.
- Manage budgets and billing for specific accounts and projects.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating calm under pressure with at least 3-5+ years of communications or event planning experience, including 1-2+ years in an agency setting. Required skills include:
- High organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Expertise in multitasking with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to anticipate issues and client/attendee needs.
- Strong proofreading and communication skills.
- Proven success in event management.
- Leadership skills and sound judgment in managing teams.
- Decision-making skills with critical thinking ability.
- Experience with project management tools like Asana or Smartsheet.
- Effective communication across teams and channels.
- Knowledge of target audiences, including local stakeholders and media.
- Understanding of marketing concepts and PR practices.
- Keen eye for opportunities for clients.
- Outstanding communication and writing skills. Regular travel across the US is required.
