Associate Software Engineer, UX Engineering
Pega provides cutting-edge solutions for some of the world’s largest organizations. Our product offerings solve real business problems within a matter of a few weeks without writing any code. One major challenge when building an application is authoring the user interface. Authoring of an application’s user interface must be intuitive to use for non-engineers and follow standard no-code patterns. That’s a challenging set of expectations to meet. That’s where you come in.
You will be joining the team who specializes in building out new authoring capabilities to allow for easy application development. In this role, you’ll help us design, develop, implement, and test the next generation of Pega’s products.

Pega is changing the way the world builds software. In this role, you’ll help us define and deliver the next generation of the Pega Infinity platform, driving the no-code capabilities that enable our clients to build amazing user interface capabilities, and rapidly deploy them in a matter of weeks.
This is your chance to get hands-on with leading-edge technology and showcase how to use the latest web technologies to deliver easy-to-use user interface authoring capabilities for the Pega Infinity platform and our different applications. What You'll Do at Pega:
- Create and update Pega’s proprietary rules in our product offerings
- Create unit tests and integration test coverage of code (such as Jest, J-Unit, Puppeteer, Playwright)
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders in an Agile environment to solve complex issues
- Look outward to identify technologies and trends to improve our authoring capabilities and keep up to date on the latest web standards
- Interact with Product Management to align product goals with implementation
- Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer of information
- Collaborate with members of other engineering teams and assist with any knowledge transfer
Who You Are:
You are well-versed in web development and Java / Kotlin with a passion for UI orchestration. You have theoretical and project experience applying these principles; and are looking to apply this knowledge to solve complex and challenging real-world problems.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, and cross-functional environment
- You are passionate about the latest web technologies and standards and how to build professional looking user interfaces
- You understand the importance of delivering high quality code with excellent code coverage using unit and integration tests
- You drive to find simple solutions to complex problems
- Currently local to Waltham with the ability to travel into the office 2-4 days a week
What You've Accomplished:
- Minimum of 0-3 years working as a developer using the latest web technologies and frameworks
- Experience with an Object-Oriented Programming language such as Java or Kotlin
- Experience working with a team in an Agile/Scrum development methodology
- Experience with writing test automation using tools such as Jest, Puppeteer, or Playwright
- Basic experience with React
- Basic experience with state management libraries like Redux, RXJS...
