Job Description
DailyMail.com is looking for an energetic and skilled reporter to join our Washington, D.C.-based team covering U.S. politics.
This is a rare opportunity for a smart, prolific journalist to write for the English-speaking world's most-read newspaper website as it expands and looks to the future.
The D.C. politics team is responsible for covering breaking news of the day in D.C., whether it originates on Capitol Hill, at the White House, in Cabinet agencies, or on the campaign trail.
This position will focus on coverage of the Senate and upcoming midterm elections in addition to major developments in national security.
Outstanding candidates will be able to work flexible hours, be ready to cover news whenever it breaks, and be able to run live coverage of major events, including evenings and weekends.
They will be able to write sharp and entertaining copy and headlines and understand how to communicate in words, photographs, and video.
Most importantly, an outstanding candidate must have the ability to break stories that will beat our competition and land unrivaled scoops to drive the national conversation.
The successful applicant will be based in the Washington, D.C., metro area. We offer a competitive salary, benefits, and vacation time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
