The Studio Manager leads all aspects of Portland Rock Gym’s studio programming. These programs include group yoga and group fitness. This position combines creative leadership, team management, and administrative oversight, with a strong emphasis on building community, supporting instructors, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for members across both wellness spaces.
This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, experience in both yoga and fitness environments, and a collaborative spirit. The Studio Manager ensures that both programs reflect PRG’s values of accessibility, intentional movement, and community connection.
Position Title: Yoga Studio Manager
Core Responsibilities:
Program Development & Planning- Design and maintain a consistent and balanced weekly schedule of yoga and fitness classes.
- Ensure class variety across styles, skill levels, and goals, aligned with Portland Rock Gym’s values.
- Plan and coordinate workshops, specialty classes, pop-ups, and seasonal series.
- Monitor industry trends to keep programming relevant and forward-thinking.
- Conduct quarterly audits and member surveys to assess class engagement and instructor performance.
- Recruit, interview, and hire yoga and fitness instructors in alignment with PRG’s values.
- Facilitate onboarding and training for new instructors, including studio procedures, safety, and expectations.
- Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins and annual performance reviews with instructors.
- Maintain clear sub coverage systems and instructor communications.
- Supervise the Fitness Coordinator and support their leadership growth.
- Manage and update yoga and fitness class schedules in Rock Gym Pro software.
- Track class attendance and provide regular reports on program trends and instructor performance.
- Submit payroll accurately and on time for all yoga and fitness staff.
- Oversee studio equipment and supplies for both yoga and fitness spaces.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and ambiance of all wellness studios in collaboration with Facilities and Front Desk teams.
- Coordinate closely with the Front Desk to streamline member experience and program access.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member feedback related to yoga and fitness.
- Plan and host events such as member appreciation classes, open houses, or cross-program collaborations.
- Represent yoga and fitness at staff meetings and in leadership-level conversations.
- Collaborate with the climbing and programs departments to design supportive programming for PRG’s broader community.
- Work with the marketing team to promote classes, events, and instructors through social media, newsletters, and in-gym signage.
- Provide seasonal blurbs, instructor spotlights, and event descriptions.
- Ensure visibility of all offerings through collaboration with front desk and digital platforms.
Suggested Pay Rate:
Hourly, $29.00 to $31.00 per hour (depending on experience).
Suggested Hours:
Administrative: 32-40 hours per week.
Teaching: Up to 4 hours per week.
