The Patient Authorization Coordinator - Lead has primary responsibility for the timely clearance of new referrals. Responsibilities
Obtains core initial authorizations and re-authorizations as required for branch
Enters patient authorization information into the computerGenerates tracking reports from CPR+ to assist with tracking of authorizations and daily Rx dispensing reports to identify changes in patient's therapyCommunicates with other departments regarding the status of authorizationsUnderstands which insurance providers have active contracts with AmeritaManages assigned statuses (Auth, Auth Pending) in the Ready to BillLeads Patient Authorization Coordinator team in support of RCM to ensure billing and collections issues are researched and when possible, resolvedMaintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary informationSupports other branches as needed
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or some college preferredMinimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare marketExperience working with all payer types, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance companiesKnowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification proceduresUnderstands the scope of services that Amerita can provideStrong verbal and written communication skills
