First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis, NC is seeking a Director of Music. The ideal candidate will eagerly serve the Lord, our church family, foster a spirit of worship, and work closely with the Pastor and Director of Ministry. Primary responsibilities of the position include participation in music selection, including a diversity of Christian music (traditional hymns, praise songs, contemporary Christian), worship leading from the piano, direction and accompaniment for small choral groups, choir, and the performance of vocal and piano solos. Position Qualifications:
Committed Christian who lives out his or her faith with integrity and character. Talented pianist and vocalist with the ability to play and sing a diversity of musical genres (including traditional hymns, praise songs and contemporary songs). Ability to rehearse and direct a traditional choir, small ensembles, or soloists. Ability to accompany an organist or other instrumentalists, small ensembles, choirs, and children/youth ensembles. Organized, dedicated, and self-motivated person who can work simultaneously on multiple projects Familiarity with various worship styles and a wide body of music worship literature. Commitment to being present on Sunday mornings, occasional special services, and weekly rehearsals. Understanding and acceptance of Essential Tenets of ECO. Application Deadline
