Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Product Designer, UI to join our Product Experience team consisting of UX and UI designers. Collaborating with Product Managers, developers, and fellow designers, you will design features and enhancements for SportsEngine products and create engaging, accessible, and innovative UI solutions. Experience designing for web and mobile apps is essential. The ideal candidate is a creative, conceptual problem-solver with high-end design skills and excellent presentation abilities to inspire and drive cutting-edge initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design usable products for the SportsEngine platform, working closely with UX, Product Management, and Engineering teams.
- Understand business objectives and user needs through research and data analysis.
- Maintain consistency in UI design across products by adhering to design systems.
- Create visual assets such as icons and instructional illustrations as needed.
- Iterate products based on user and test group feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and ensure design integrity during development.
- Monitor consumer trends to identify desirable product traits.
- Manage multiple projects and adapt as priorities shift.
- Maintain high attention to detail and a critical eye for quality.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Design, or related field.
- 3+ years of professional UI design experience.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting concepts effectively.
- Experience with transactional and e-commerce platforms.
- Knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design.
- Understanding of W3C web standards and accessibility.
- Proficiency with design tools like Figma.
- Experience with rapid prototyping, A/B testing, and iteration.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered UI design projects.
Preferred
- Familiarity with sports-related platforms or apps.
Work Environment: Fully remote position, contributing from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, typically an employee’s residence.
