The Smart Agency in Irvine, Calif. is an award-winning public relations, content, and marketing agency with 35 years of experience serving some of the world’s most respected commercial real estate and finance firms.
We’re currently seeking a smart, talented Public Relations Account Manager; Earned Media Specialist with 2-3 years of professional public relations / media relations experience to join our team.
The right candidate is a media relations professional with experience crafting pitches and securing strategic publicity, thought leadership, and news coverage in national, regional, local, and trade publications across the commercial real estate and finance industry.
The position is primarily remote, with a commitment to attend team meetings in-person at our Irvine office each Thursday, as well as Client meetings in-person as needed. Hours are full-time, however each Friday we close at noon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client relationship management and counsel: Develop and maintain strong relationships with Clients, acting as their primary point of contact and ensuring a high level of satisfaction while helping them define and reach their goals, messaging, and target audiences.
- Earned Media; Strategic Media Relations: Develop and implement media relations strategies, including crafting press releases, pitching and building relationships with journalists, and securing ongoing high-quality and impactful media coverage.
- Project management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Client projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Content development: Collaborate with the content team to create compelling written, visual, and multimedia content for Clients, such as articles, blog posts, social media updates, and marketing materials.
- Campaign management: Oversee the planning and execution of Public Relations campaigns, monitoring their progress and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired results.
- Reporting and analytics: Track, analyze, and report on the performance of Client projects and campaigns, using data-driven insights to inform future strategies and tactics.
- Team coordination: Work closely with other team members, such as content creators and designers, to ensure seamless integration of services and a cohesive approach to Client work.
Requirements:
- A skilled and confident PR strategist/publicist with 2-3 years of professional experience.
- Strong media relationships – proven ability to achieve strategic coverage.
- Curious and effective in managing effective projects.
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation to effectively manage a variety of moving projects are must-haves.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and autonomously will make for great success here.
- Interest in commercial real estate, finance, investment, architecture, construction, and/or economics is necessary.
Compensation:
60,000 base salary + 100% paid employee health insurance + matching 401k + company bonus program
