Public Relations Coordinator
IA Interior Architects is looking to hire a dynamic Public Relations Coordinator with 2 plus experience in the communications field. The coordinator will report to the Director of Communications and play a critical role in the firm’s public relations efforts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Director of Communications in proactive media plan and pitch development, as well as responding to inbound press requests.
- Assist in national speaking proposal and award submissions.
- Research new media outlets, conferences, and award programs.
- Interview our project leaders to draft project narratives for pitching purposes.
- Market research on current trends for thought leadership development.
- Social Media editing and proof-reading.
- Press release and announcement drafting.
- Award and Event calendar maintenance.
- Article and white paper drafting on behalf of firm leadership.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- BA in marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in public relations, journalism and/or marketing.
- Experience at PR agency and strong writing skills are preferred.
- Advanced MS Office application skills, including PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into straightforward, non-technical language.
- Strong editing and proof-reading skills, including proven ability to draft and edit press releases, pitch materials (i.e., project descriptions) and awards submittals.
- Familiarity with the architecture and design industry is a plus.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 based on industry experience & education.
