JOB TITLE: Public Relations & Social Media Account Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE

• The PR and social media account coordinator assists with the day-to-day management of the client’s public relations and social media efforts.
• This position assists with tactical account work; however, the PR account coordinator also interacts directly with the client.
• The PR and social media coordinator will assist in developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy on behalf of our clients.
• This position conducts research and contributes to the strategic planning process.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

• Located in Nashville, TN
• A degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations or a related field.
• A minimum of one-year relatable internship or experience at an agency preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Great at time management and multitasking.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Strong creative mind.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Reporting Relationship: The public relations & social media account coordinator reports to the public relations account director.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the execution of public relations and community engagement plans including strategy, goals and tactics.
• Day-to-day management of clients’ social media channels.
• Reacts to social media trends in real time to build brand presence and drive consumer engagement.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Provides recommendations on social media strategy to engage target audiences and direct social media content development and execution.
• Builds and maintains lists for social media influencers across markets.
• Coordinates social media influencer partnerships on behalf of the client.
• Leverages existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts locally, nationally and within business and industry media.
• Builds and maintains media lists for client across markets.
• Develops media materials, including key messages, news releases, media alerts, talking points and collaborate with client to revise and finalize.
• Monitors, analyzes and communicates PR results on a regular basis.
• Maintains a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategies.
• Connects with influential media outlets and journalists to place stories about client news and other initiatives.
• Educates and supports client and internal teams regarding public relations strategy value and best practices.
• Works closely with key community partners and charitable organizations on behalf of the brand.
• Provides on-site support at client events and for media interviews.
• Travels (as necessary) on behalf of clients to events, meetings, conferences and presentations.
• Hustles. There is no busy season or light season. We are busy, and we move quickly. This job requires relentless hustle and a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-your-part mentality.
