As the Jr. Manager, Communications, you will play a key role in Sony Music US Latin's internal communications strategy and serve as a Publicity agent for over 100 artists. This role reports to the Senior Director, Communications for Sony Music Latin.
What you'll do:
Internal Corporate Communication
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies with managers.
- Ensure successful communication of organizational initiatives and projects.
- Create and edit content for internal communication channels, including layout work.
- Draft messages or scripts for senior executives.
- Maintain message consistency across all internal mediums and departments.
- Align internal messages with external communication strategies.
- Respond to feedback and adjust content as needed.
- Support crisis communication efforts to protect organizational reputation.
Artist Publicity
- Build and maintain relationships with industry contacts, journalists, and media outlets.
- Plan publicity efforts for album launches and other projects.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, artist bios, and promotional materials.
- Follow up on publicity activities and coordinate publicity events.
- Arrange artist appearances, media interviews, and publicity events.
- Coordinate logistics with project managers for appearances and releases.
- Cover press events and compile media coverage reports.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (reading, writing, speaking).
- At least 3 years in corporate communications or public relations.
- Preferably 2+ years in music industry publicity.
- Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills in both languages.
- Experience in writing and distributing press releases in Spanish and English.
- Passionate about music and cultural diversity.
- Ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of music trends and audience preferences.
- Strong media contacts and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PR Newswire, Muck Rack, etc.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent team player with interpersonal skills.
