Job Description
***Only qualified Technical Designer candidates located near the Manhattan, NY area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Our client is the world's largest intimates' specialty retailer offering a wide assortment of modern, fashion-inspired collections including signature bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim and athleisure, as well as award-winning prestige fragrances and body care.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion (preferred), or equivalent experience.
Skills & Abilities
- 5+ years’ experience in technical design.
- Women's Swimwear & Coverups (Fashion) experience. (Sweaters & Knits/wovens – a plus!)
Role:
- Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
- Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
- Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
- Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
- Typically reports to Technical Services Manager. Typically directs Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.
