SUMMARYThe Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation including product technical sheets, operations & service guides, installation manuals and other documents for commercial handwashing and industrial safety products. User-friendly documentation will be accurate, complete, clear and concise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Work with a team of Product Managers and Engineers to identify the technical information critical to the end user.* Generate high quality technical documents for electronic and print publication, following graphic standards and style guides.* Determine photographs, drawings, diagrams, and/or charts needed to illustrate material.* Maintain archive of all documents and revisions.* Observe processes and interview end users to test effectiveness of documentation.Update or modify product illustrations and engineering drawings to suit documentation.Manage foreign language translations.Conduct research necessary to produce accurate, comprehensive and best of class documents.Provide back-up support for Marketing Dept. personnel as needed.Other related duties and projects as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Technical Communications or Bachelor of Arts in English or Mass Communication with emphasis in technical writing, and 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.High Proficiency in Adobe's InDesign, Proficiency in Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office.Knowledge of Technical Communication standards, practices and style, in addition to strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.Engineering, manufacturing or building products experience preferred.
