Design Manager III
to join our growing buildings team!The Design Manager III establishes and monitors procedures for architectural & engineering review activities to ensure they are done according to best practices and standards identified in the Contract. You will oversee design support management, scope of work management, design review and approval, permitting, agency coordination support, and building information modelling (BIM) coordination. You support the Sr. Project Manager in providing oversight of the architectural, structural, mechanical electrical plumbing (MEP), civil, utilities, and IT disciplines per client standards.This program is airport wide, but mostly concentrated in the Terminal buildings.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience required. Experienced managing a team of design professionals.Manage a Team of team of architects, engineers, and other professionals to guide the design, permitting and construction -procurement of various airport capital improvement projectsOversee the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lend expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitate meetings and be the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Expert teamsProvide technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectEstablish submittal approval procedures and ensure uniformity of review approachAudit project team comments and designer responsesMonitor compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the T5 Modernization project ensuring consistency and quality in designMonitor permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamOther duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, Engineering, and/or related field.15 years or more of experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably airport projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experienceExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $100 million in value.Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityPreferred QualificationsProfessionally Licensed ArchitectProfessional EngineerMaster’s degree in architecture, Engineering, and/or related field.Ability to work in CAD or REVIT a plus
