Suffolk University invites qualified candidates to apply for our Performing Arts Advisor/Music Director for our student-led show choir, Rampage. This individual oversees the team, providing artistic and functional direction and fosters student leadership. Responsible for developing and teaching a repertoire of music selections in the Show Choir style. Teach parts to and improve musicality and performance standards of students. Day-to-day operations are run by students. Dance experience helpful but not required.Responsibilities:
Working with Student Leaders to develop group – music selection and arranging, audition management, equipment purchase and management, etc. (20%)Teaching and directing music rehearsals (70%)Supporting student leaders in running rehearsals, member management & support, and production of performances (10%)Requirements/Qualifications:
Training in/familiarity with show choir style music genre.Experience working with and/or teaching college aged students.A passion for student development through the arts.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to attend student rehearsals evenings and/or weekends as required.
