Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of technical artists, fostering growth and setting quality standards.
Pipeline Development: Collaborate with art and engineering to create and optimize the character art pipeline, ensuring efficiency and artistic integrity.
Unreal Engine Expertise: Develop materials, shaders, blueprints, and systems for integrating and optimizing character assets within Unreal Engine.
Blender Mastery: Oversee character modeling, rigging, and animation standards, potentially contributing directly to high-profile assets.
Performance Optimization: Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks related to character art and animation.
Problem Solving: Drive innovative solutions to complex technical challenges within the art pipeline.
Tool Development: Work with engineers to create or enhance in-house tools and scripts to streamline character development processes.
RequirementsProven Experience: 5+ years as a Technical Artist in game development, with at least 2+ years in a lead or senior role.
Exceptional Portfolio: Demonstrates technical work with character art and animation skills, with outstanding rigging and skinning.
Unreal Engine Proficiency: Deep understanding of materials, blueprints, animation systems, lighting, and optimization.
Blender Mastery: Understanding of modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation in Blender.
Optimization Focus: Proven track record of optimizing character art for real-time performance.
Problem-solving Mindset: Ability to analyze complex issues, devise solutions, and collaborate effectively.
Communication and Leadership: Excellent interpersonal skills to mentor, guide, and inspire a team.
