Civil H&H Designer
We are looking for a H&H Designer with an interest in stormwater projects to support design of Transportation, Environmental, and other Infrastructure Projects in our Lincoln office. Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems including hydrology and hydraulic analysis related to culvert sizing, open channel design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, storm sewer infrastructure design, wetland and detention basins, and floodplain analysis. In this role you will contribute to a collaborative team environment. The desired candidate will supplement the design efforts of multiple disciplines within Benesch.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Lincoln office.The Impact You Will HavePerform hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and designPrepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standardsAssist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management and detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities and specificationsContribute to project goals and milestones and monitor project progressAssist in preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of stormwater design and planning projectsEnsure the development of high-quality engineering documentsAdhere to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project trackingAssist with other and/or different project assignments as requestedWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline requiredDesire to pursue PE License preferredA desire for professional responsibilities including:Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with an emphasis on rational method and TR-55 design methodologiesUsing plan production software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoadsUsing programs such as: HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, StormCAD, CivilStorm, Watershed Modeling System (WMS), Surface Modeling System (SMS)/SRH-2D, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox, CUHP, FLO-2D, Mile High Flood District spreadsheet toolsExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenA willingness to adhere to design budgets and schedulesAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to prioritize, work on, and advance multiple projects simultaneouslyA desire to gain a thorough understanding of state, regional, and special district design standardsA desire to develop storm water management plans and water quality design/MS4A desire to design projects and participate in field activities related to planning/investigation, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure improvement projectsA willingness to adhere to client and industry standards and requirementsA desire to learn, strengthen skills, and grow professionally and personally
