The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist who knows how to generate scoops, pitch compelling enterprise ideas, and understands what makes a Sunday reader stop and pay attention.

Responsibilities:
- Pitch and write original, compelling enterprise stories focused on national politics, policy, and the Washington power structure
- Monitor and report on breaking news with a keen understanding of what Sunday readers are looking for
- Cultivate and maintain strong sources across Washington, including Capitol Hill, the White House, and key agencies

- Deep sourcing and strong news instincts in the Washington, D.C. political landscape
- Proven ability to generate ideas, break news, and pitch enterprising, original story concepts
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to match the Post’s voice and style
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom and under tight deadlines
- Must be a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team
