Meet the Team This role is within Cisco's Data Center Networking team. You will work on developing the Nexus 9000 line of data center switches and related software, focusing on application awareness to enhance network flexibility and agility for dynamic application needs, virtual machine workload mobility, and cloud extension. You will collaborate with a diverse group of problem solvers and creative thinkers working on Nexus 9000, Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), NXOS, Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC), and network fabric for AI applications. This is a technical marketing team focusing on next-generation data center and cloud networking. The role demands high initiative, energy, and quick thinking. Your Impact As a Technical Marketing Engineer (TME), you will craft solutions and align business requirements with customers, field teams, and business units for Nexus Dashboard, Nexus 9000, ACI, and related platforms. Your expertise in data center technologies, AI, networking, REST APIs, and programmability (including Python scripting, SDN, NFV, and virtualization) will be essential. Responsibilities
Collaborate with major customers to understand and fulfill their Data Center Network Fabric requirements. Develop and execute the technical strategy for Nexus Dashboard, emphasizing AI-driven automation and AIOps. Partner with engineering and product management to define and refine product requirements and solutions. Create and deliver compelling presentations, collateral, and webinars for customers and internal sales teams. Develop competitive collateral and collaborate with partners, system integrators, and channels. Travel as needed to engage with customers, launch products, and train sales and partners. This role offers an opportunity to influence product direction while working closely with strategic customers and partners on cutting-edge data center solutions. Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS in EE/CS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles. Experience in engineering, architecture, technology, and customer interactions in technical marketing, advanced services, or TAC. Understanding of SDN technologies in data centers, WAN, or service provider environments, and knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN, NFV. Ability to present high-level and technical presentations to executives and decision-makers. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of network test tools. Understanding of AI/ML concepts and network requirements for AI/ML fabrics. Knowledge of Cisco ACI, NDFC, Nexus 9K is a plus. Experience building network controllers. Understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies. Creative problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication, ability to produce white papers, teamwork, and presentation skills.
