The Regional Creative Director is responsible for curating the creative service offering here at Trident. The Creative Group is comprised of three core services: Brand Design, Creative CGI and Smart Pack Samples & Mockups. As the leader of the creative service offering in the region, you will be expected to have a hand in the management of the day-to-day creative work, the growth and business development efforts for future creative work and the management of the creative design team. While our current focus is within the packaging space, the future creative offering will evolve to include digital and off-pack applications. The Regional Creative Director will be instrumental in identifying and supporting the commercialization of new service offers and deliverables in The Creative Group.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mastery of Trident’s Creative Group capabilities.
- Development and presentation of Trident’s capabilities and success stories.
- Manage the creative process from concept to completion.
- Participate in the creative representation of Trident through visual creation and/or thought leadership to be shared digitally and within presentations to customers, industry colleagues and the trade.
- Pitch, consult and secure creative work with new and existing Trident customers.
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative designers to improve creative output and ensure adherence to the customer’s brief.
- Proactively represent the needs and thoughts of the region in the Global Design Leadership Forum to direct the continued evolution of the creative service here at Trident.
- Remain abreast of competitor’s work and emerging trends in the industry.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, particularly account management and business development, to ensure best-in-class standards are followed for creative projects and client relationships.
- Understand and be an active participant in the profitability, deliverables, timelines and budgets for creative projects.
- Strong focus on meeting creative KPIs for quality and continuous improvement of work product.
- Champion a consistent approach to creative file management and creative workflow integrity.
- Coach, manage, develop and mentor designers within the creative team.
- Embody and contribute to building a creative culture at Trident.
- External client interaction in support of our Client Service team.
- Interacts across teams with multiple disciplines at all levels, collaborating on projects, making recommendations to influence change, giving guidance using their knowledge and expertise.
- Is expected to work collaboratively with other creative associates within a project.
- Is expected to craft and own a perspective on design and represent that perspective for the region for customer pitches and presentations.
- Represents the needs of the region within the Global Design Leadership Forum.
- May have direct reports within the region to guide, train and mentor.
- Uses industry experience, customer knowledge and Trident policy understanding to determine best approaches to customer issues.
- Influences creative budget, creative output and deliverables.
- Responsible for balancing creative integrity of our work and customer satisfaction with our Creative Group.
- Extensive periods of concentration, colour accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prolonged periods of sitting with opportunity to take breaks when required.
- Extensive DSE (Display Screen Equipment) use.
- Office working environment.
This position is located at our innovation center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Extensive experience guiding design strategy for leading consumer packaged goods brands.
- Mastery of Creative Suite software. (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
- Knowledge of branding and ability to develop a compelling strategy on behalf of our clients.
- Professional yet comfortable communication and presentation of creative capabilities and work to high level clients and industry professionals.
- Associate degree (with measurable experience) or bachelor degree within the Graphic Arts.
- Preferred: BA in Design, Digital Design, Communication Design or similar field focused on creative communication and/or visual arts.
- 5+ years leadership experience directing and managing a growing creative division / agency.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience with be considered.
The annual base salary range for this role is from $98,640 to $110,970, plus annual target bonus of 5% of base salary.
