The Sr. UX Researcher will be a leader on the UX (user experience) team. The researcher will be integral to products and an advocate for both users and the user experience research process from discovery through design delivery. In this role, the Sr. UX Researcher will define strategy, develop and execute research plans, apply appropriate methodologies, and report findings that elevate and translate user insights into actionable recommendations. At the core, this position will transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful product launches through user research throughout different design phases. The UX Sr Researcher will work to create a best-in-class user experience for frontline employees, helping transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful employee tools. The ideal candidate has a passion for user-centered research and design and has a wide breadth of experience across multiple types of products, channels, and research methodologies. Responsibilities
Facilitate, direct & solicit feedback during design reviews. Develop data collection efforts and oversee data analysis and synthesis using industry standard techniques. Design and implement research studies, including developing methodologies and data collection instruments. Lead, plan and execute field visits to shadow users in ethnographic states. Develop, prepare and deliver research reports, presentations, and other research deliverables. Analyze research findings across products and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Maintain & advocate for research repository. Strategize and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into decision-making processes. Lead and plan workshops using established workshop frameworks. Mentor researchers and provide guidance on research best practices. Actively contribute to team culture and research ops. Stay abreast of emerging trends and methodologies in the field of research. Skills
Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills required. Excellent communication skills focusing on the ability to articulate strategic research objectives to stakeholders, IT partners, and members of the design team. Ability to communicate research results, graphically depict data, and justify methods and approaches—orally and in writing. Extensive knowledge of usability and user experience research tools and techniques (e.g. field research, heuristic reviews, benchmarking, card sorts, lo-fidelity prototyping methods, etc.) Strong project management and negotiating skills are central to the position. Strong moderation skills and methods for group facilitation and consensus building. Ability to work independently, in a team, and with or without direction is imperative. Related experience in another field such as human factors, interactive design, information architecture, and/or market research is a plus. Experience creating user personas and journey maps to support a user-centered design methodology. 5+ years of research experience with multifaceted responsibilities.
