The Blueprint (Role Profile)
Reporting to the Director, NAHT, Channel Management, the Senior Manager, Channel Marketing will be based in Apex, NC, Sparks, MD or Huntersville, NC. This position within the Hand Tools Channel Marketing department is responsible for leading strategic channel marketing efforts in regards to current products and new product launches for Retail, Hardware and Amazon. The Senior Manager, Channel Marketing collaborates extensively with sales leaders, product teams, and the marketing communication team to drive sales. The Senior Manager, Channel Marketing is also responsible for using sales, profit, customer, consumer, and competitor data to develop channel marketing strategies that align with business objectives. The Senior Manager is responsible for managing, guiding, coaching, developing, and delegating to a team of associates. The Senior Manager also participates in and oversees tactical channel marketing efforts that support his/her team.
The Build (Responsibilities)
Lead development of a thorough competitive and situational assessment of the channel to lead strategic planning and annual marketing planning
Supervise and drive marketing programs to meet strategic growth objectives and to grow sales among customers (via push programs) and end-users (via pull programs)
Collaborate with sales team and product team to position products commercially that align with strategic goals
Work alongside sales, product managers, and marketing communications teams to engineer brand strategies and tactics at the customer level
Actively seek out and understand customer and end user VOC through regular contact to shape strategy for the organization
Lead channel marketing tactical planning with product teams to prepare for launch of new products and promotions
Monitor/track and analyze the effectiveness of programs to lead discussion around course corrections and decision-making
Present to customers, consumers, and internal clients about brand information and promotions
Lead line item reviews to gauge product interest and to gain insight on how to better message the products
Abillity to travel up to 20%
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; MBA is a plus
10+ years of marketing, sales, or customer service experience
Experience with strategic planning
Experience with working in multiple channels or multiple regions
Experience conducting and analyzing market research, then turning findings into actionable projects
Experience measuring and tracking success
Experience with and exposure to financial statements and understanding their interactions
Experience with distribution
Experience developing and executing digital marketing and e-commerce platforms tactics
Experience executing channel marketing tactics for a new product introductions
Ability to manage, coach, and develop others
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP skills is a plus
Expert knowledge of principles and methods for pricing, promoting, and placing products
