Marketing, Event Coordination for Birthday Parties & Admin SpecialistHours:
Monday - Thursday with Saturday/Sunday Alternating - Considered full-time hours, eligible for 50% paid health insurance.Company Overview:Cookology and Metropolitan Culinary Arts Institute are recreational and professional culinary institutions, respectively, dedicated to providing top-quality cooking classes, workshops, and events to students of all levels. Located in Ballston Quarter Mall in Arlington, VA, our school offers a dynamic learning environment where students can explore diverse cuisines, refine their culinary skills, and engage in a vibrant community of fellow food lovers.Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Marketing & Administrative Specialist to join our team. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cooking schools by providing administrative support across various departments and assisting with day-to-day tasks.Responsibilities:Manage front desk operations, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and greeting visitors.Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.Ensure the reception area and common areas are tidy and presentable.Assist with student inquiries, class registrations, and enrollment processes.Coordinate student orientations and provide information about class schedules, instructors, and course offerings.Prepare and distribute class materials, including recipes, handouts, and instructional guides.Support event planning and coordination for cooking classes, workshops, and special events.Assist with venue setup, equipment rentals, and logistics coordination.Liaise with instructors, guest chefs, and vendors to ensure smooth event execution.Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document preparation.Manage scheduling and calendar appointments for staff members and instructors.Coordinate staff meetings, take minutes, and distribute meeting agendas and materials.Create newsletter templates with lists of classes on constant contact.Create social media calendar and content.Qualifications:Minimum Associate's degree (AA)Must provide referencesProven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a similar environment (culinary school, hospitality, education).Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with office equipment and systems.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.Passion for food, cooking, and culinary arts is a plus.Employment Type:
