You have a keen understanding of how to choose images that resonate with readers and maximize impact, particularly on our digital platforms. You are a great communicator and can easily work with stakeholders across a range of newsroom disciplines — including reporting, design and audience. You will be a coach for staff, guiding professional development and visual storytelling. You uphold standards of accuracy, fairness and inclusion in the Star Tribune’s coverage. We are a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom publishing on multiple platforms, so you will need to have a strong understanding of all areas of print and online editing, including social media acumen and photo/video usage on those platforms.ABOUT USWe produce powerful visual journalism for breaking news stories, deeply reported narratives, explanatory pieces, and high-impact investigative reports. The photo team is expected to help generate daily and long-term story targets, and our editors come to meetings prepared to pitch story ideas. In addition to its desktop and mobile sites, social media accounts and daily print newspaper, the Star Tribune also produces a variety of special sections.
