Summary DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Director of Training, the Pilates Studio Manager functions as a liaison between the Director of Training and the Pilates Instructors. The Pilates Studio Manager supports the Pilates Team through the onboarding process, continuing education and helps develop the technical skills necessary to be a Pilates Instructor. The Pilates Studio Manager provides Pilates training services of the highest quality through consistent demonstration of exceptional skills in assessment, exercise programming, exercise instruction and sales.Duties / ResponsibilitiesEducation & Development• Demonstrates mastery and continued proficiency improvement in all areas deemed necessary for the position of Pilates Studio Manager such as: assessment, exercise programming, exercise instruction and sales• Stays up to date on Pilates industry trends and oversees the ongoing Pilates continuing education program for a Pilates Instructors• Regularly attends and participates in all continuing education, departmental and all other required staff meetings• Meets monthly with Pilates Instructors to oversee all departmental business logistics and organizational behaviors along with the technical skills necessary to excel in their role as a Pilates Instructor such as proper departmental reporting methods, necessary client and club organizational skills, proper interpersonal communication skills (e.g., phone etiquette, client correspondence, client interactions, etc.), sales skills, etc.• Contributes to the continual improvement of the quality of Woodside Pilates servicesDepartmental Business Logistics• Assists in the financial growth of the Training Department by maintaining budgetary requirements requiring Pilates Instructors to meet their budgetary goals• Provides Pilates marketing and promotion ideas to the Director of Training• Meets weekly with the Director of Training to assess current state of the Pilates Department and assists in development and implementation of all new policies and procedures• Attends and participates in all continuing education, departmental and all other required staff meetingsMember Service/Relations• Provides individual (1:1) and Group Pilates Reformer services to Woodside members• Interacts with members/clients/staff to gain insights, feedback and general information regarding member/client satisfaction• Monitors maintenance and cleanliness of program areas and equipment, reporting issues to Facilities, as appropriateAdministrative & Financial• Assists in an annual budget for the department and monthly reforecasting for the department, as needed• Generates required reporting documents including: Semi-monthly and Monthly Budget Reports,Monthly Management Metrics Repots, Payroll Reports, Pilates Instructor progress reports, etc.• Maintains clean, organized and visually appealing areas in and around all fitness areas• Ensures compliance with club's employee handbook and with all applicable federal and state employment laws• Maintains a working knowledge of Woodside policies regarding handling of staff and related issues; works to administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures, as related to Pilates performance• Participates and fulfills all requirements set forth in the Continuing Education Curriculum (Woodside University) Program• Completes all other duties as directed/assigned
Qualifications
Job StandardsAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.
Education/Experience:• Pilates training and program design experience and minimum of one certification from nationally recognized organization (e.g., Stott Pilates, Power Pilates, Peak Pilates, Balanced Body) is required• 3+ year's work experience as a Pilates Instructor• 2+ year's work experience in fitness management position• Prefer Bachelor's Degree in physiology, kinesiology, recreation, health or related field with strong emphasis in health and fitness required• Certification by American Red Cross in Adult CPR and First Aid required within one month of hire

Special Requirements:• Access to confidential information and financial data• Regular and predictable attendance is required• Moving throughout the facility, including providing training or demonstration of proper training techniques throughout the day• Ability to move 50+ pounds on a regular basis• Visual acuity for computer work with ability to type on keyboard• Ability to communicate verbally
Working Conditions:• Fitness center environment with exposure to equipment, ability to demonstrate use of equipment and otherwise fulfill teaching/training duties
Safety Hazards:• Equipment & mechanical hazards, road conditions
