The Marketing Events Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of hosted events, non-hosted conferences, and trade shows based on best practices to support T2's strategic goals and sales and marketing objectives.
This position requires a wide range of skills, including the ability to effectively lead and influence others, contribute as a team player, manage outside partner relationships, and manage all aspects of company attendance at tradeshows and conferences of varying size and scale, from research and planning logistics to execution, promotion, tracking, measuring, and reporting results. A strong understanding of strategic marketing-even planning best practices, campaign development, and tactical execution-is necessary for success to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and deliver a strong ROI.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop event strategies and implement best practices to manage the planning, execution, and logistics of approximately 40 events annually that achieve business objectives.
Collaborate with sales, product management, core leaders, and other stakeholders to create the annual event calendars and own all activities required to flawlessly execute and successfully deliver ROI, including measuring cost per opportunity for each show and building a robust funnel of leads valued at 3X event costs, converting to 100% of the closed won-to-Cost ratio.
Create event promotion plans and collaborate with marketing and lead generation to integrate social media, direct marketing, advertising, PR, and lead generation campaigns in support of all events.
Manage the event budgets, track spend, and oversee financial reporting to accounting, internal stakeholders, and external agencies.
Develop and manage a comprehensive event project plan (checklist) for each event that includes expectations and leads meetings (kickoff, planning, and pre-event) to maximize participation and optimize results.
Track and manage deliverables to ensure all event deadlines are met across departments.
Collaborate with the content manager on the writing, design, and production of event content, including invitations, signage, presentations, and social media posts.
Manage exhibit vendors and approve the design, layout, cost estimates, and construction of exhibits and displays consistent with brand identity guidelines.
Manage company-hosted events, including Connect, Reconnect, speaking opportunities for T2 through leaders, and T2 Solution Showcases.
Support the planning and execution of company internal events as needed, including employee huddles and the annual sales summit.
Negotiate with vendors, event hosts, hotels, and service providers for the best arrangements within budget.
Build mutually beneficial relationships throughout T2 and with industry and market vertical associations.
Research and implement trends, technologies, and capabilities within the event planning and trade show industries.
Manage T2 speakers' bureau activity, secure speaking engagements for T2 staff, and coordinate presentation development with the content manager.
Education and Qualifications

a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and at least four years of progressive experience in a B2B environment, preferably with a technology, service-related, or tech-enabled solutions company.
Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally (Canada) up to 20% of the time.

Curious and creative by nature, the marketing events manager must be a self-starter who possess advanced levels of strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities.
Must be comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from executives, managers, staff, customers, and external audiences.
Proficient in Microsoft Office required, with preferred.
Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on an assignment.
Experience working with the public sector (e.g. municipalities, universities) desirable.
