Job Summary
Facilitates event planning to include budget development, effective marketing strategy employment, vendor contract negotiation, vendor oversight, and event logistics.
Essential Functions
The University of Pittsburgh's Business, Hospitality, and Auxiliary Services University Stores team is seeking a qualified Marketing and Events Coordinator. Duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to:Meets with clients to establish the event's purpose; gathers critical information about the budget, speakers, facilities, technology, equipment, logistical requirements, and other related issues.Acts as a liaison for all aspects of event planning, identifying event opportunities, coordinating scheduling, organizing, and staffing events with the Operations Manager and team, gathering requests for marketing support, and collaborating with other team members to ensure each event is successfully executed.Collaborates with the BHAS marketing team to identify effective marketing tactics and create an action plan for all stores' marketing.Coordinates with the stores' leadership team to create and implement a retail marketing planWorks closely with social media students to create Monthly social media plans.Develops a budget, creates financial reports, reviews bills, and manages payments.Designs or contracts various marketing materials and identifies specific implementation strategies.Oversees all set-up operations to confirm adherence to event standards; performs final checks on the event day.Performs post-event tasks related to assessing the event's success; documents issues and identifies improvements for future planning.
Physical Effort
Sitting, standing, walking. May require occasional lifting and moving of merchandise, displays, etc. of up to 50lbs, and standing for long periods of time.
