We are seeking a creative, detail-driven Graphic Design Manager to lead the design and execution of all marketing and visual brand materials for Matterly and WaterHog, two distinct yet complementary residential textile brands. This unique role blends marketing design with product-level textile design, offering the opportunity to shape how our brands look both on the digital shelf and in the home.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable creating compelling digital and print marketing assets as they are contributing to the development of textile patterns for mats and rugs. They will collaborate closely with the Marketing and Product teams to ensure brand consistency and excellence across all customer touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time, in-office role, based in LaGrange, Georgia at Mountville Plant 1. The Graphic Design Manager reports to the President and has one direct report – Graphic Designer (part-time, remote).
Marketing & Brand Collateral (at least 60%)
· Design digital and print assets including email campaigns, social media graphics, advertisements, look books, brochures, packaging, etc.
· Maintain and evolve the visual identity of Matterly and WaterHog in a way that is tailored to each brand’s tone, audience, and aesthetic.
· Translate complex messaging into clean, impactful visual communications.
· Collaborate with marketing team on copy and photography to ensure cohesive storytelling across all brand assets.
· Edit, recolor, and retouch product and lifestyle imagery
· Support Product Design Manager with environmental photography shoots as needed.
Textile & Product Design (up to 30%)
· Support the Product Team in the creation of surface patterns, colorways, and design concepts for new residential matting products, and provide design support for our larger retail customers (e.g. LL Bean, Pottery Barn, Anthropologie).
· Assist in preparing production-ready art files for both printed and molded textile formats.
· Participate in seasonal product planning meetings and contribute to trend research and inspiration boards.
· Help ensure that product designs are aligned with brand positioning and resonate with target consumers.
Team & Project Management (10%)
· Manage design timelines and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
· Provide creative direction to freelancers or other designers as needed.
· Coordinate with Production Team to ensure proper printing/production of new and sample mats.
· Coordinate with external vendors (e.g. printers, photographers) to ensure high-quality output.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or similar field
· 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in a consumer goods or home décor environment
· Strong portfolio demonstrating both marketing design and pattern/surface design
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with textile CAD software is a plus
· Understanding of the print production process for marketing materials; understanding of the textile print production process is a plus
· Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for typography, color, and spatial composition
· Self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
