Summary of Position
The Department of Music at the University of New Hampshire is seeking applicants for a one-year appointment, renewable, benefits-eligible, .88 FTE Lecturer of Music Education (General Music Specialist).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach courses at all levels of the music education curriculum, including core and upper-level courses. Teach other classes dependent upon qualifications of candidate and departmental needs.
* Serve as an innovative leader in music education, committed to increasing equity in, and access to, music education for all learners.
* Assist in building and maintaining relationships with public school teachers in the state of New Hampshire as needed.
* Participation in the New Hampshire Music Educators Association and other professional organizations as needed.
* Perform service to the department and university by serving on committees, recruiting students, and other activities.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
* Appropriate Doctorate (or extensive professional experience). ABD will be considered.
* Public school teaching experience (3 years desirable minimum). Collegiate teaching experience preferred.
* Primary expertise in methods and materials for the elementary music classroom preferred.
* A secondary emphasis on creativity/improvisation or arranging/composition for the public-school music classroom is desirable.
* Expertise in general music history and/or music theory teaching is desirable.
* A commitment to sustain and advance the goals of the institution's diversity of students, faculty, and staff.

Salary Information
Salary is in accordance with the terms of the UNHLU-AAUP collective bargaining agreement; it is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.
