About the Team:
Pi Studio in Reno is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other artists teams in the US and Canada. Our artist team is comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering, and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency.
SUMMARY:
Collaborate with artists, engineers and the rest of the game development team, effectively implementing completed art assets. Liaison between art and engineering teams, facilitating seamless asset integration and championing optimal performance and efficiency in a game’s final visual assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Verify that game assets meet technical requirements
- Key support for engineering development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Possesses a strong understanding of game engines, pipelines, and processes.
- Proven experience in several of the following: lighting, shading, VFX, environments, characters, physically based rendering (PBR), and content management & optimization.
- Be meticulous and organized in the approach to the tasks, files, and storage of the material
- Strong knowledge in Unity, Adobe Suite, and 3D software (3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, etc.)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems creatively
- Ability to make and ship art to engineering specifications
- Able to give effective critiques and take feedback & criticism
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work on a fast paced environment
- Be a guidance resource for the development of new art team members when needed
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Graphic Art, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu.
- 3+ years of experience in the casino gaming or game development field.
- Ability to work in different art styles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
