Job Responsibilities
- Develop technical documentation for advanced military systems, including radars for F-22, F-35, and other UAV systems.
- Write, rewrite, and edit technical manuals, user guides, programming manuals, and operational specifications.
- Oversee preparation of illustrative materials such as drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
- Conduct quality reviews of materials.
- Publish materials in various formats, including electronic and structured formats like HTML, XML, and SGML.
- Collaborate with engineers, task leads, and instructors to develop and deliver technical manuals.
- Perform desktop publishing for reports, whitepapers, and articles.
- Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources, adhering to military standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills, be proactive, organized, and self-motivated.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related field, or military experience with radar, communications, or electro-optics systems.
- Expertise in MS Office.
- At least 2 years' experience with structured authoring tools like MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and attention to detail.
- Must possess and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' technical writing experience.
- Knowledge of content management strategies and standards like XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, DITA.
- Possession of DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
