Public Outreach
Provide EDS information to the community, businesses, agencies, and professionals relating to the communication needs of deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind individuals
Assist with booths at conventions and workshops in this position's catchment areas
Technical Assistance
Provide training for consumers
Provide troubleshooting for equipment problems
Provide loaner equipment for consumers who aren't eligible to apply or whose equipment is being repaired
Training
Coordinate presentations to agencies and service providers who work with deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind individuals
Program Development and Maintenance
Identify target groups that may need information about EDS.
Maintain monthly activity reports
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Basic knowledge of Microsoft products: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Experiences working with elderly population.
Excellent organizational skills.
Management Preferences
Basic knowledge/skills in American Sign Language.
Knowledge of telecommunications equipment for individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard Of Hearing (HOH).
Networking with local and state organizations.
Experience with outreach work.
Ability to train individuals on the use of telecommunications equipment.
Excellent public speaking skills as well as verbal and written skills.
Basic knowledge of state and federal laws related to telecommunications access and technology.
Physical Preferences
Extensive travel is required within, and occasionally outside, the 12-county region; loading and unloading equipment including some lifting; exhibit booth and demonstration set up also required.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program served from an appropriately accredited institution;
OR
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in an area related to program that provides experience in techniques of casework or counseling;
OR
Experience Equivalent
