Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support Teledyne Marine facilities in North Falmouth, MA and Kopavogur Iceland with creating and maintaining world class user documentation to ensure the success of Teledyne Marine Vehicles customers and improve their user experience.
- Work closely with customer-facing Teledyne Marine Vehicles operational support leadership to create user documentation geared towards field operations and maintenance with a primary focus on Slocum Glider, Sentinel Glider, Gavia AUV, Osprey AUV, and SeaRaptor AUVs.
- Create and maintain user manuals and other documentation required for the use and repair of Teledyne Marine Vehicles UUVs.
- Assist with the creation of User Maintenance manuals and other documentation.
- Assist with the creation of Training programs and associated manuals, documentation, and multimedia.
- Develop and reflect in user documentation an understanding of how Teledyne Marine uncrewed systems are used by our customer base.
- Incorporate use of graphics and other multimedia where appropriate to provide clarity and repeatability in user documentation procedures.
- Assist with documentation and submittals for proposals, RFIs, and RFQs in collaboration with Sales and BD leadership.
- Work on SDRL and other programmatic documentation as required.
- Coordinate with Program Management, Engineering, and Technical Documentation teams as required.
- Ability to travel.
- Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a 'US Person' (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or refugees).
- Perform other duties as directed by the Vice President Sales.
Education and Experience:
- BS Degree in Engineering Technology (preferred), Literature, or Journalism.
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Writing.
- Experience with technical writing and content creation for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles.
- Understanding of AUV and glider operations.
- Experience with US Navy Programs / NATO and associated documentation requirements.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to decipher, translate, and capture requirements and details from customers, support staff, technical staff, technicians, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively work and engage with global teams and customers whose first language may not be English.
- Experience with tools such as Captivate or Adobe Illustrator, Line Art, or similar.
- Working knowledge of CAD and 3-D solid modeling.
- Expert knowledge and use of MS Word or other documentation tools for technical writing.
- Experienced user of other MS Office programs, i.e., Excel, Outlook.

- Quality Systems.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to spend time sitting at the computer as well as standing in various production areas.
- Must be able to spend time in the field with technical staff or customers to better understand documentation requirements.
- Manufacturing floor – loud, various assembly machines.
- Machine shop – loud, various manual and CNC machines.
- Field Operations as required.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety Glasses & hearing protection required in designated areas.
- Other personal protection equipment as required.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
