Responsibilities:
Capture lifestyle photos throughout the community and/or in studio as assigned (ex: lifestyle, people, sports, entertainment, food, nature, architecture, new construction, events, etc.)Implement artistic and industry best practices to enhance and compose photographs, staying up on trends and progressions in the photo industry to include photographic technology.Engage audiences to obtain authentic slices of life, photography.Exercise creative authority in day-to-day operations.Collaborate with the Creative and Marketing Teams and/or fellow photographers to produce professional photo content in alignment with The Villages brand, voice that meets organizational and departmental objectives.Assist fellow photographer(s) with photo taking efforts and/or editing and cataloguing photography.Operate various photographic equipment such as single lens reflex cameras and film, digital cameras, backdrops, lighting, and related hardware.Set up and break down cameras, backdrops, lighting, props, etc.Download, edit, and tag photo content as requested.Drive company vehicle(s) and safely transport shoot materials to and from events and various destinations; at times using own transportation when necessary.Work with the Marketing Events Team to participate in events that need photographers present.Partner with team members in-house as part of the Photo/Video Production Team to ensure high-quality photographic images.Ensure proper equipment is used for each project, maintaining and keeping equipment in good working condition and making minor repairs or scheduling greater repairs/recommending upgrades when warranted.Maintain, organize, clean equipment, calibrate equipment, and troubleshoot problems in a proactive manner.Use different techniques in post-production enhancement to modify photography as required, employing photo manipulation software (Ex: Adobe Suite) to get desired results.Recommend creative ideas to help us collectively meet and exceed expectations.Review sets of photographs to help select best results.Attend special meetings, educational sessions and assist leadership in ongoing training of team members as asked.Assist the Marketing Team in their overall initiatives as requested.Utilize office computer and office equipment (copier, scanner, etc.) along with a host of other software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, MAC applications and photo editing software and/or additional photo manipulation.Education & Experience Requirements:
Must have five (5) or more years’ experience with photography.Must be proficient in the use of photo editing software with the ability to download, edit and tag photos accordingly.This position requires strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for The Villages and all it has to offer, a desire to serve and the ability to problem solve and to handle a variety of variables.Must be able to communicate with customers, guests, and team members, maintaining a professional and always accommodating demeanor confidently and effectively.Must be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a team-oriented atmosphere.Detailed artistic knowledge of photography, strong creative presence with attention to detail, able to deliver quality photos and follow instructions to achieve desired results in a timely manner required.Must be able to move and stand for long periods of time.This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business. Please refer to the Vehicle Safety Program for the policies and procedures that this position is required to follow.A Valid Driver’s License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.
