UAB Medicine offers avenues for advancement that other employers cannot match.General ResponsibilitiesTo visit referring physicians throughout the state and surrounding regions to make them aware of UAB services and faculty. To assist physicians in the basic referral process. To assist in the planning and production of presentations made to referring physicians. To attend faculty division and service line meetings to promote communication between UAB and referring physicians. To demonstrate knowledge regarding physician referral patterns and to communicate this information to internal stakeholders. To serve as a resource for the development of physician-focused promotional initiatives.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists in enhancing lines of communication between referring physicians and UAB faculty. Visits assigned physicians throughout the state and region quarterly and attends divisional and service line meetings.Reviews referral patterns of target physicians and demonstrates knowledge of referral patterns and the ability to communicate this information to internal stakeholders.Assists in the design and development of materials for presentations to referring physicians. Meets with assigned service lines to obtain information regarding UAB faculty, procedures and services.Promptly addresses concerns and requests regarding UAB services, suggests plans to resolve concerns and monitors results with referring physicians.Broadens referral base to UAB and provides physicians with information regarding services provided by UAB. Assists in the planning and implementation of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs to local communities upon request.Collects and compiles biographical information on referring physicians and their referral patterns in appropriate databases.Assists in accessing the needs of referring physicians and prepares plan of action to meet those needs. Interviews referring physicians.Qualifications
Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Nursing and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.Licenses / Certifications / RegistrationsCurrently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.Primary Location: UAB Health System
