Qualifications:Bachelor's (B.S.) degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering (M.S. degree a plus)Ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training certification within 6 months of hire preferred.Knowledge of applicable regulations.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in a team environment and work independently as needed on project-specific tasks.Ability to be efficient in planning and organizing workload.Dedicated commitment to performing quality work with a positive attitude and work ethic.Knowledge of MicroStation and its use to generate roadway drawings.

Technical ResponsibilitiesSupports design of complete project, system, component, or process.Frequently supports the preparation of complete plans, specifications, and other project documents.Supports designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data.
Project and Task ManagementAssigns tasks to and directs other technical and nontechnical staff.Frequently plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.Frequently prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects.
Management ResponsibilityReceives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance, when necessary, on unconventional/complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.Assists with mentored experience to direct reports and junior staff by providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products.Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Communication SkillsCommunicates effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
