Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Get Rec’d Music Therapist will be to help Individuals with various developmental and physical disabilities through music therapy interventions. The goal of the Get Rec’d Music Therapist is to use music interventions and experiences to help individuals served to reach their therapeutic goals by working with the Individual Served and his/her team. The primary responsibility of the Get Rec’d Recreational Therapist will be to help Individuals with various developmental and physical disabilities through the use of Recreational Therapy interventions. The Get Rec’d Recreational Therapist aims to help individuals work on their 5 domains of wellness to increase their functional abilities, improve their quality of life, and make social connections. Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesGet Rec’d seeks highly motivated, independent, and caring therapists who will serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Indiana. Get Rec’d serves the following common diagnoses (not exclusive): Autism PDDCerebral PalsyMuscular DystrophyTBIADHDODDDual Diagnosis. Responsibilities Include: Therapists provide weekly or biweekly one-on-one music therapy sessions completed in the home or office settingTherapists will need to have regular and professional communication with families and team members, which is essential for purposes of enhanced quality of lifeTherapists will ensure the completion of daily session notes to narrate each 1:1 session and validate how the session assisted an Individual’s progress toward their goals and objectives.Therapists will facilitate the completion of yearly comprehensive music therapy/recreational therapy assessments and a music/recreational therapy treatment planTherapists will participate in quarterly and annual required treatment team meetings, other community opportunities, continuing education opportunities, supervision, and co-therapy services.As applicable, effectively correspond and communicate with all providers, family members, staff members, individuals served, and other treatment team members. Ensure you respond to return phone calls and/or text messages within 24 hours.Qualities and Experience RequiredMust be a Board-Certified Music Therapist (BCMT) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)All therapists must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. The entry-level therapist's rate is negotiable and depends on each applicant's experience and education. Therapists can build a caseload to the size they prefer, so monthly income ultimately depends on how each contractor manages their schedule.
