POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs under the general supervision of the Senior Mammography Technologist and Radiologist. The technologist will utilize positioning skills to produce clear, reliable images for screening and diagnostic mammograms as indicated by the ACR Manual. It operates mammography equipment, as well as x-ray equipment and film processors. Operates ultrasound equipment to produce high quality breast sonograms. Performs and correctly documents technical aspects of the QA/QC program for mammography. Utilizes PC and RIS system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification, ARRT(R) is required. Completion of MQSA Initial Training in Mammography contact hours and Mammographic Modality course required. Candidates must be registered in Mammography ARRT(M) within one year of employment. One year of experience in mammography is preferred.
