Overview
AHL's office in downtown Honolulu is seeking a Technical Designer to join our highly creative and collaborative team. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for preparation of design and/or construction drawings and documents.
AHL offers a hybrid office/remote 3/2 schedule and a 4-1/2 day work week.
Education
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.Minimum of five years substantial experience in architectural drafting, design development and detailing on a wide variety of projects.
Certification
LEED Accreditation preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Substantial knowledge of procedures for production of construction and design development documents.Thorough knowledge of architectural planning, detailing, drafting, construction materials and methods.Working knowledge of related engineering principles and building codes.Proficiency in CAD.Revit and/or 3-D software program experience preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Typical Duties
Prepares design development and construction documents, coordinates details and dimensions.Designs and develops technical design concepts, plans, elevations, sections, and details.Assists in the direction of preparation of drawings by other designers.Checks for code compliance.Conducts general drafting relating to more complicated areas of construction documents and aids in solutions to general architectural problems.Acts as job captain on less complex projects.
