Overview
The Manager, Pop Up Design will serve as an inspired, collaborative leader responsible for designing and overseeing the design development through execution of pop-up/pop-in designs and seasonal activations. This individual will strive for excellence, show dedication and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions and ensure seamless global delivery. A strong passion for experiential and spatial design is essential, along with an awareness of emerging technologies, digital trends, and immersive experiences.
The role requires a unique blend of creativity and practical knowledge of execution and production processes. To excel in this position, the candidate must be a proactive team player who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments, tackling challenges with a flexible, solution-oriented approach. Additionally, the role involves travel and on-site project management.
Key Accountabilities:
Concept Design, Visualization & Presentation
Work with the Director on the process of concepting and designing retail activations such as pop ins / pop ups.
Work with cross functional teams on design development from start to finish - sketches to 3D models, renderings, production handover decks and presentations.
Present concept options to CVM leadership to vet creative development and ensure complete approval.
Have great attention to detail to ensure best in class presentations.
Actively seek opportunities to contribute to creativity, innovative solutions outside of everyday projects.
Project Management & Partnership
Manage projects from receiving brief to installation.
Lead and own delivery and on-time, on-budget execution of experiential retail activations.
Take initiative and be flexible on adapting to changes in project timeline, scope, or requirements.
Oversee budget on seasonal R&D and freelancers for dedicated projects.
Collaborate and drive partnering with internal production team on providing direction on design intent and feedback on technical drawings and prototypes. Should be open to prompt responses during tight deadlines to ensure successful delivery.
Collaborate with regional and market teams to develop designs that fulfill briefs.
Communication and Team Leadership
Be a strong team player and encourage teams in streamlining communication and organization to ensure assets are captured correctly for leadership presentations.
Liaise with regional teams to understand brief and inform on activation approaches for meeting business target and needs.
Communicate and present projects regularly ensuring timely updates on priority approvals and maintaining accurate, up-to-date information.
Manage 1-2 designers as well as freelancer(s) as needed. Provide training, guidance and positive leadership to direct reports focused on growth and project delivery.
Special Projects
Support on-site installations as needed.
Attend walk-throughs (virtual or in-person) to provide design direction and feedback.
Assist and take direction from Manager / Creative Director on bespoke or special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience specific to displays, pop up, and in-store design
Creative background or qualification in appropriate design field
Experience of luxury fashion or jewelry retail
Illustration skills -freehand sketching or technical drawing
3D CAD skills - Rhino, Keyshot, and / or Vectorworks
Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite
Mac literate in Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Capable of reading basic floor plans, architectural elevations and visuals as well as construction drawings
Ability to be organized and manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
Must be detail oriented, team player, self-starter and able to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The hiring range for this position ranges from $122,485 - 172,920. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
