About the University UMA transforms lives across Maine through accessible distance and on-site education, student support, civic engagement, and diverse programs. As Maine’s third-largest public university, UMA operates campuses in Augusta and Bangor and various centers statewide, specializing in online and distance learning.
Qualifications Required Education:
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field, with at least 3 years of instructional design experience in higher education, including online learning.
Or
Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of instructional design experience, including online learning, across various settings such as higher education, K-12, corporate, government, museums, or freelance consulting.
Required Skills:
Experience with instructional technologies and e-learning tools (Zoom, Kaltura, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) in course design.
Expertise in designing for accessibility, including UDL and ADA compliance.
Proficiency with project management tools (TeamDynamix, Asana, etc.).
Experience using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, DALL·E, etc.) in educational contexts.
Experience with LMS platforms such as Brightspace, Canvas, Blackboard.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in related fields.
Experience with neurodiversity-informed course design.
Certifications in project management, digital accessibility, UI design, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Experience with micro-credentialing and AI-driven educational tools.
Additional Information Salary ranges from high 50s to low 60s, commensurate with experience. No visa sponsorship available. Applications reviewed starting May 19, 2025, with materials due by May 18, 2025. Successful candidates will undergo background screening.
