Summary
This position serves as a graphic design manager responsible for using graphic design and branding to create and grow the communications strategy of the Foundation, which is an integral component of the fundraising process. The primary purpose is to create and execute a communications and engagement strategy for donors and prospective donors. The manager will work closely with the UNC Health Foundation team, including communications, donor experience, events, and development professionals. Essential skills include content creation, accuracy, meeting deadlines, project management, teamwork, organization, and storytelling.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is required.
Responsibilities
- Produce consistent graphic design for features, proposals, backgrounders, and visual materials to serve as storytelling resources across all Foundation entities. This includes designing and executing direct fundraising materials such as annual giving solicitations, major and principal gift proposals, event collateral, and digital/print pieces.
- Collaborate with communications, stewardship, development, and events staff to provide branding and design guidance for stakeholders, including donors, alumni, faculty/staff, event attendees, and prospects. This includes impact reports, event design, social media and digital illustrations, and other materials to support the Foundation's mission.
- Develop and implement brand strategies and materials supporting initiatives across UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine. Work with Foundation and UNC Health communications teams to ensure effective collaboration, and develop co-branded materials and guidelines.
- Create a library of visual assets such as icons, infographics, and illustrations. Curate existing photo collections and lead efforts to gather additional assets. Regularly audit materials for visual consistency and work with teams and leadership to identify content creation needs.
Other Information
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree required.
Professional Experience Requirements: At least five (5) years of related experience, preferably in marketing and communications within academia or healthcare. Knowledge of content creation, production, and marketing/communications plans. High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to analyze data and trends, identify opportunities, and develop strategies and recommendations to guide branding, communications, and decision-making.
