Were seeking a seasoned video leader with a proven track record of managing a team of 4+ full-time creativessomeone who brings strong pastoral instincts and is capable of leading end-to-end video production, from pre-production planning and weekend content coordination to post-production, quality control, and team development.
The Senior Video Director oversees the video production of the Creative department, ensuring high-quality storytelling. This role leads a team of video directors, manages video projects from concept to completion, and keeps all video elements in line with the churchs vision. The Lead Videographer is responsible for developing the video team, refining production workflows, and managing equipment and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and assign upcoming projects
- Develop shot lists, scripts, and production timelines for upcoming video shoots.
- Review footage from Sunday services and ensure proper storage/organization.
- Direct or oversee scheduled video shoots.
- Finalize and approve content for weekend experiences and events.
- Conduct training or development with video directors and Dream Team members.
- Conduct a pre-service huddle to rally the team around assignments and expectations.
- Oversee real-time video capture of worship, preaching, and special moments.
- Ensure all footage is safely backed up and stored properly.
Key Performance Factors:
- Content quality and brand alignment - Videos adhere to brand guidelines, maintaining high production quality and storytelling impact.
- Team development and efficiency - Video directors show improvement in skills, creativity, and leadership over time.
- Production output and turnaround time - Maximizing content captured per shoot day to reduce unnecessary reshoots.
- Equipment and asset management - Cameras, lighting, and editing systems are properly maintained and available when needed.
- Cross-team collaboration - Seamless coordination with social media, design, and other teams.
Must-Haves
- A proven professional record of outcomes in video directing
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Collaborative management style, a team player with excellent communication skills
- High-level networking/relational strengths with an ability to execute
- Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Great attention to detail and time-management skills

- People Management experience
- Experience working or high-level volunteering for a church, or non-profit.

- Union Church offers a generous compensation package. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
