JOB SUMMARY
The Concept Design Intern will assist the Art Direction team in creating 2D sketches, storyboards, POV color illustrations; and if able, key art, birdseye's and marketing art to support the Creative Studio project design needs. They will also be creating 3D models to be used as a basis for drawing over to expedite the illustration process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates independent sketching and illustrating work on a Cintiq, while being guided and mentored by the Art Director or a senior level Concept Designer.
- Creates assets to support several projects as well as the overall concept design team as a whole.
- Attends regular project-related meetings as needed to understand larger project parameters with the overall concept design team.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
- Preferred majors include: Fine Art, Illustration, Entertainment Desing, Product Design, Environment Design, Experience and Production Design or similar.
- Preferred coursework completed: Drawing and 2D illustration, Color illustration, Photoshop, 3D block-out and Rendering
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Experience with a 3D modeling software, like SketchUp, Revit, 3DSMax, or Maya.
- Knowledge of general architecture and guest accessible features is a bonus.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2025.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
