Salary Range: $54,000 - $85,000 annually. This salary is based on experience and qualifications, in alignment with the level of responsibility assigned. This role offers opportunity for professionals at various career stages to contribute meaningfully and grow within our organization. This is a Local position only. It’s a Local, but Hybrid role, meaning it requires you to be in the Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.
As a UX Designer, my objective is to identify and translate client objectives into beautiful, innovative, and workable solutions for interactive mediums that create great experiences for the user.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research to develop insights that shape experience design following UX methodologies for conducting audits, performing heuristic analyses, conducting user testing, and developing personas and scenarios.
- Deliver experiences designed to meet client goals while being user-centric in design.
- Lead or collaborate in multi-stakeholder interactive workshops and presentations.
- Support the development of functional requirements to ensure final delivered experiences meet client needs and all proper tracking, data collection, and functionality are reflected.
- Advocate for user-centric thinking across agency work.
- Advocate for and apply interactive design principles across all device types such as mobile, touch, and social interactions.
- Serve as a key cross-functional member in ongoing new business development.
Requirements
- Conduct research to inform design recommendations.
- Participate in scoping, project planning, and managing tasks to meet deadlines within project budget.
- Stay on top of emerging trends, technologies, and patterns to incorporate them into the workflow as necessary.
- Maintain strong working relationships and exemplary communication with team members.
Skills and Abilities
- A well-trained aesthetic eye capable of maintaining usability and desirability throughout the entire design process.
- Working knowledge of a range of design tools such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Passion to act as an advocate for experience design, both inside the agency and externally with clients.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and other design validation methods.
- A collaborative approach to work; you thrive in a team environment because you respect the ideas and opinions of others, and you know the art of moving a team toward an effective outcome.
- 5 years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, digital strategist, UX researcher, data analyst, or similar role. Agency experience preferred.
- Bonus points if you know or are conversant in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or comparable experience) in Human Computer Interaction, Visual Design, UX Design, UX Research, Psychology, Data Science, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Decision-Making Authority
- Determining research approaches needed in collaboration with the assigned account strategy lead.
- Experience design approach working in collaboration with the assigned design lead or art director.
- Daily task prioritization with regards to deadlines.
Indicators of Success
- Successfully completing training and certification to work in client CMS tools.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of client-set design systems.
- Delivering designed experiences following client requirements on deadline and within budget.
Long-term Indicators of Success
- Demonstrated ability to intake client goals and develop comprehensive recommendations that are insights-based.
- Independently leading assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a consultant with internal and client teams.
