Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.Job Description As the Vice President of Business Affairs, your role is pivotal in overseeing development and agreements for scripted television shows. This involves negotiating contracts with various industry professionals for our global studios, while collaborating closely with the SVP of Business Affairs in the US and the UK.Key Responsibilities
Negotiate scripted programming deals with talent representatives, covering profit participation, rights agreements, and overall/first-look deals.Liaise with multiple departments like Creative, Legal, Finance, Casting, Production, and Marketing to ensure seamless operations.Assess budgets and financial details related to program development and production.Prepare short-form deal memos and test option agreements, oversee accuracy in long-form agreements, and coordinate payment processes.RequirementsBasic:
Minimum of 10 years of television Business Affairs experience.Ability to work across different time zones, particularly in the UK and Australia, necessitating starting work by 8 am LA time.Proficiency in negotiation and drafting agreements.Desired:
Bar Admission.Prior experience in negotiating agreements for broadcast or cable scripted programming, preferably with studio or network background.Familiarity with international Business Affairs, especially the UK market.Strong teamwork, initiative, and understanding of industry agreements and regulations.Additional Details
