The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to support the Ohio Army National Guard (OHARNG) Recruiting and Retention Battalion's (RRB) objectives . This role involves analyzing market segments, overseeing advertising initiatives, and fostering partnerships to enhance recruitment efforts. This position will work closely with RRB leadership and various stakeholders to ensure alignment with state-level marketing goals, ensuring all deliverables meet the required standards and specifications through review and final submission .
Develop Annual Marketing Plan: Create and present an annual marketing plan for RRB Commander approval, including marketing objectives, target analysis, advertising, media and promotional strategies, and effectiveness measures. Facilitate the implementation of approved marketing strategies and initiatives. Utilize data to inform decision-making, set key performance indicators (KPIs), and establish measurable goals for future campaigns.
Facilitate Implementation of Approved Marketing Strategies: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for targeted recruitment and retention strategies. Develop and recommend integrated marketing strategies, including Area-level marketing plans, based on the analysis of market segment to optimize resource allocation and maximize return on investment. Ensure all strategies comply with NGR 601-1 and other regulatory requirements.
Strategic Liaison: Collaborate with The Adjutant General of Ohio, The Assistant Adjutant General for Army, RRB Commander, and senior staff to develop and align state-level marketing strategies and initiatives with strength maintenance goals and to develop communication plans. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support operations, quality control, and customer service of the Marketing Office. Collaborate with public affairs, community outreach entities, and other strategic partners.
Conduct Market Analysis Based on Production Results: Track performance metrics, gather feedback from After-Action Reviews, and collect market evaluation data to evaluate effectiveness of recruiting initiatives and marketing campaigns. Prepare quarterly analysis reports to present insights to leadership and collaboratively plan future strategies.
Recruiting Event Support and Coordination with Other Agencies: Identify and coordinate OHARNGs participation in local events, including regional job fairs, ensuring effective engagement with potential recruits. Coordinate logistics and provide recommendations for optimal recruiter staffing and promotional materials for events. Interface with media and other key influence organizations to amplify advertising and marketing initiatives.
Advertising Programs and Promotional Support: Design targeted advertising programs and strategies for the RRB strength maintenance mission, including recruiting and retention initiatives. Develop a comprehensive media plan to maximize outreach. Ensure collateral materials are consistent with national campaign themes. Develop press releases for media distribution, manage social media platforms, and create engaging content to reach target demographics. Attend conferences and workshops to stay updated on NGB marketing guidance, best practices, and emerging trends to enhance advertising and promotional efforts.
Assist with other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated practical experience in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of experience in program/project coordination
Strong writing/communications skills; experience with social media management
Detail-oriented, creative, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines, and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Familiarity with National Guard Regulations, particularly NGR 601-1, is preferred.
