The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s online team has an opening for a videographer/multimedia producer for arkansasonline.com.

The person serving in this role would have several responsibilities, primarily shooting, editing and producing video for the Democrat-Gazette’s website as well as for social media platforms. In addition, this person would assist in podcast production and help produce long and short-form multimedia projects on a variety of topics and potentially write stories for the publication.

In this mutli-faceted role, this person would work as a member of the Democrat-Gazette’s online team and primarily in conjunction with the Multimedia Editor in generating multimedia content for the publication, which would include frequent communication with the publication’s reporters and editors.

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a background in media production and online skills, and who is comfortable with technology and has some experience in HTML. This individual would also be able to assist with the digital publishing processes for the Democrat-Gazette’s website as well. In this role, the individual would be trained in aspects of the Democrat-Gazette’s content management system and related applications.

The ideal candidate is familiar with Associated Press style, media law and possesses strong English-language skills, including grammar and spelling, and is able to operate under deadlines in a fast-paced journalism environment. The individual in this role should also be able to have some flexibility in their schedules, including occasional night and weekend work.

A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or a related field is preferred but relevant experience and education are acceptable.
