The Digital Marketing team oversees creative and programming of Disney Entertainment’s General Audience (GA) YouTube channels. The team is responsible for creative content development and production, channel strategy, program planning, publishing and channel operations. Additionally, this team works closely with Brand and Franchise, Studios, Consumer Products, Governance, Legal, Music, and Finance. The team manages channel operations and is responsible for adhering to TWDC and YouTube policies.
Reporting into the VP, Digital Marketing & Creative Strategy, the role of the Manager, Digital Marketing will support The Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing team in developing and executing GA YouTube channel creative strategies, with a primary focus on Marvel and Pixar content.
The Manager should be well-versed in the YouTube ecosystem, with solid experience in digital content development and production. Working closely with the Sr. Manager, Creative & Programming, the role is creatively focused and requires hands-on production involvement to shepherd YouTube content development through all stages of production and in support of franchise priorities and timelines. The role will work in concert with the project managers to adhere to schedules, budgets, and efficient operations. The role will work in concert with the publishing & programming team to align with channel content planning and programming calendars and manage creative deliveries.
The role requires an understanding and appreciation of TWDC brands and franchises, primarily Marvel and Pixar, so that the content produced upholds brand standards such as voice, style, and tone, and delivers upon expectations set forth by the Digital Marketing team. The manager should expect to collaborate with other creative stakeholders who have an interest in the GA YouTube segment of the business.
This role will be expected to proactively understand key priorities and campaigns for each business segment, aligned with platform and content best practices, and utilize insights to drive and implement strategies.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the VP and Sr Mgr, spearhead hands-on creative development and production of long and short-form video content (VOD, livestreams, and YT Shorts)--as well as community content and engagement--for GA YouTube channels
Understand detailed content strategies, to align production and delivery of final assets in support of franchise priorities and timelines
Uphold and adhere to brand guidelines when creating content, ensuring videos are consistently on-brand in voice, style, and tone—while also pushing formats, trends, and opportunities to meet ever-evolving platform and fan tastes
Engage and collaborate with 3rd party creative and platform partners to create engaging content and identify new opportunities
Develop and produce content that can travel internationally and across platforms in support of the brand/franchise strategies and priorities
Collaborate with a growing team dedicated to executing the GA YouTube channel strategies
Utilize data to drive insightful recommendations and proactively identify opportunities of growth and A/B testing
Have a keen understanding of YouTube as a platform and the focus of General Audience content
Support the planning and execution for the broadcasts of live-streamed events, stunts, and coverage
Content Development & Production
Manage content projects from development and production through to final delivery
Engage and collaborate with creative partners on content productions
Deliver content on-time and on-budget
Produce content that supports TWDC and cross-LOB priorities
Assist in developing creative slate that aligns to core Brand, Franchise & YouTube business goals for the GA audience
Assist VP and Sr. Manager in overall GA strategy development
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years’ relevant experience with content development and production, preferably in digital
Experience in long- and short-form content development and production for fiction and non-fiction video
Passion for and track record creating fun & engaging content and story-telling
Strong project management, organization, presentation and communication skills
Strong understanding of digital platforms and trends, specifically YouTube
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a matrixed organization
Ability to collaborate with a team, as well as roll up effectively to leadership
Deep well of knowledge and affinity for the Marvel and Pixar brands and characters across media and iterations
Efficient with time with the ability to meet deadlines and self-direct time management
Proficient in Keynote/PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere
Team player with strong work ethic and ability to be nimble
Familiarity, knowledge, and passion for Disney Brands a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
AA or BA in Digital Marketing, Marketing or business admin/relevant degree preferred
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $108,500 to $145,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
